Case Study 1

Waterzyme partnered with a NSW Council to treat its wastewater treatment plant, which has been experiencing harmful algae blooms with potentially toxic cyanophytes. The three-week field calibration's primary objective was to assess the application of Waterzyme and estimate the reduction of Microcystis spp.

The secondary objective was to monitor water quality and aquatic species parameters in the pond and receiving environment to determine the effect of this application.

Application

Waterzyme was applied to the waterway (1 litre of Waterzyme per 250,000 litres of treatable water)

Results

Over the course of three weeks, the total cyanophyta and Microcycstis had a 95% and 96% overall removal rate respective. Analysis of water quality and aquatic species data revealed Waterzyme only targets the toxic algae species, not affecting the other beneficial organisms.

Application

Waterzyme was applied to the waterways (1 litre of Waterzyme per 250,000 litres of treatable water)

Results

Within two weeks there was a significant overall reduction of both primary and ancillary toxins. Within four weeks there was a 90% reduction.

Case Study 2

Waterzyme partnered with a NSW Council battling high levels of cyanotoxins in its public waterways. A four-week field calibration was conducted in two wastewater treatment ponds with high toxic levels, including high levels of common blue-green algae and similarly correlated high biovolumes.

The field calibration specifically focused on measuring strains of harmful algal blooms (HABs) that pose the most serious dangers to human health, such as Microcystis and Dolichospermum.
